Conference Wide Barkworth, Mary E. [1], Gilbert, Edward [2], Baxter, David [3]. Using online resources for creating checklists, floras, identification keys, and specimen citations. Development of accessible specimen-based information on taxon distributions offers people alternative tools for botanical exploration, plant identification, and compilation of specimen citations for research papers. Participants in this workshop will be shown how to use the tools available for these activities in different Symbiota and the portal of the Consortium of California Herbaria. It will end with a discussion on how these resources can be harnessed to increase appreciation of plant diversity, the importance of herbaria, and productivity.
