A Broader view for Plant EvoDevo: novel approaches for diverse model systems.

As the genetic and molecular basis of development is explored in ever-more detail within established model systems, Evolution of Development (EvoDevo) seeks to understand how the evolutionary histories of these processes have produced the astonishing morphological and physiological diversity of land plants. With this symposium, we wish to provide a venue for sharing novel genomic, gene network, protein-protein interaction, and transgenic resources from within emerging model systems across most major groups of land plants. In doing so, we hope to expose current and upcoming members of the EvoDevo community to a wealth of tools that can be brought to bear on questions regarding the fundamental mechanisms that underlie land plant diversification.
