Systematics Section/ASPT Kim, Kyeonghee [1], Oh, Sang-Hun [2], Kim, Chan-Soo [3], Park, Chong-Wook [1]. A new species of Peucedanum (Apiaceae) from Korea. A new species, Peucedanum chujaense (Apiaceae) K. Kim & C.-W. Park is herein described and illustrated. Peucedanum chujaense is morphologically close to P. japonicum, but it is distinguished from the latter by its bipinnate leaves with shiny surfaces, bracteoles shorter than pedicels, glabrous petals, and prominent calyx teeth. Preliminary analyses of chloroplast DNA sequences also suggest that the new species is genetically distinct from P. japonicum as well as the other species of Peucedanum in Korea. Plants of P. chujaense are relatively common along the rocky seashore of Chuja Islands, South Korea. Log in to add this item to your schedule
