Botany 2015 Colloquium: Integrated perspectives on the ecology, genetics and coevolution of intimate mutualisms

Leebens-Mack, James H. [1], Yoder, Jeremy [2].

Botany 2015 Colloquium: Integrated perspectives on the ecology, genetics and coevolution of intimate mutualisms.

This is an exciting time in Biology as researchers are combining whole-organism and molecular perspectives to elucidate the ecological, genetic, molecular and evolutionary processes contributing to biodiversity. Through an exciting set of 15 minute presentations, our colloquium will illustrate how such integrative studies are advancing understanding of processes influencing intimate species interactions involving plants. Focal topics will include the ecological and coevolutionary dynamics of specialized plant-insect and plant-microbe interactions that serve as model systems for understanding the antagonism-mutualism continuum.
