Learning and evaluating alternative digitization workflows (i.e., changing "I know it can be done" to "I can do it").

There are several different workflows for digitizing herbarium specimens. It is difficult to evaluate the most appropriate in a given situation if one has not actually tried them. This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to use such approaches as skeletal data capture, optical character recognition, and crowd sourcing for expediting digitization up to the point of georeferencing. It will be geared towards use of a Symbiota-based network.
