Bryological and Lichenological Section/ABLS Ariyo, Olusesan Ayodele [1]. Syntrichia cavallii (Negri) Ochyra a new Moss species in Southwest Nigeria. Syntrichia cavallii (Negri) Ochyra specimen collected from Idanre hills,Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria is described as a new species to Nigeria. It is characterized by oblong-lanceolate, margin recurved. Nerve strong , excurrent. Mid-leaf cells hexagonal, basal cells rectangular, seta long, reddish , capsule cylindrical.
